Thui I is located in the main ridge of northern Hindu Raj on the district border of Chitral and Ghizer . The mountain reaches a height of 6662 m . The Kotalkash Glacier to the east separates Thui I from Koyo Zom , the highest mountain in the Hinduraj. Another glacier is on its western flank. Both glaciers flow north to Yarkhun . On the southern flank of Thui I is the Borumbar Glacier , which is part of the Yasin catchment area

The first ascent was achieved by a Japanese expedition in 1974. The ascent route led from the Borumbar glacier over the south ridge of Peak 6400 and the south-west ridge of Thui I to the summit. On July 27, the expedition participants Hideo Mutoh and Hiroshi Yanagi reached the summit.
