Mountain Royalty Fees in Pakistan (2025-2026)
At Jasmine Tours, we ensure a seamless and unforgettable adventure in the awesome inspiring peaks of Gilgit-Baltistan. To help you plan your mountaineering or trekking expedition, we’ve put together the latest information on royalty fees and the permit process for 2026 as set by the Gilgit-Baltistan Tourism Department.
Types of permits:
1. Climbing Permit:
- Required for foreign and Pakistani nationals aiming to climb peaks above 6,500 meters in the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
- The application process typically takes 4-6 weeks, so we recommend applying early to avoid delays.
- Royalty fees are applicable based on the height of the mountain, with variations between summer, autumn, and winter seasons.
2. Trekking Permit:
- Required for entering restricted trekking zones in the Karakoram Range, including areas such as Askoli, Baltoro, K2, and Gondogoro Pass.
- Foreign nationals with a trekking and mountaineering visa do not need a separate trekking permit. This visa will serve as the trekking permit or mountaineering permit.
